gruskek replied to your post: I now officially own Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #100
Congrats! High five! xD
Thanks. I ended up getting it off ebay because running around to 4 places that have old comics didn’t have it. Plus I didn’t feel like driving to Phoenix. >:I
I should post my old comic swag eventually (I’m working on collect anything Jason Todd related either in TPB or single issue form and hunting down Nightwing TPBs in person).
Though I really do need to find and bag-board all my Crimson comics (anyone remember this series? It was about vampires.). I would love to get them signed by Humberto Ramos (wonder what his reaction would be).
I had to buy it online because: Jason.
I hope my BB cream comes this week but with Korean mail… hmmm maybe two weeks.
ETA: Yes, I am going to be scanning Jason’s story in it.
after i saw the avengers, i was just drowning in steve feels.
i mean, everyone else was great, too. but steve though. his silly crack about there only being one god and his getting the monkeys reference and ugh.
i just love him so much.
i cannot watch captain america without crying, though. i just can’t do it.
Well you see, the feels factory produce a super-feel serum. However thanks to NAZIS it was only applied to Steve Roger feels. The feels factory has tried over the years to replicat the feels (see: Bruce Banner feels), but so far it seems the original formula has been lost.
This Super-feel Serum has a great effect on feels. Like so:

See? Not even Bucky!Cap can handle those Steve feels.
Odin did not steal a baby
He found a baby abandoned to die and adopted it and raised it as his own
That is not stealing a baby
That is saving a baby’s life
There is a difference
Why is this fandom so fucking stupid sometimes
THIS!!!!
ODIN IS A BIG FAT BABY THIEF!!!
~ Laufey
I thought it was pretty obvious he found him myself.
Here’s a scene from the Thor script that didn’t make it to the movie where Laufey acknowledges that he would have killed Loki if not for Odin and Loki acknowledges that Laufey abandoned him.
The intention was always for Odin to find Loki, not steal him.
Exactly, thank you.
This is as true as Tony building an mini-arc reactor in a cave with a box of scraps.
So you know: LEGIT TRUTH.

Because apparently I get the best ideas in the car for my fic WIPs.
Please listening to the same that started one of the fics helped.
But mwahahahaha. Jason’s Black Mercy fic. I figured out an awesome meta gimmick.

New Teen Titans #20
Jason Todd, always the voice of reason.

“I think Jason’s tunic is possessed by a ghost. Every time Bruce feels bad and like a failure in the Batcave… BOOM! JASON’S TUNIC IN THE BACKGROUND! And it’s starting to summon itself whenever anyone else feels like they let someone down in the Batcave.”
Reasons why I should not be allowed on tumblr while drinking.

Robins as Vocaloids. Uniting two very different things.
Robins wearing outfits from Lady Gaga videos. Jason is Bad Romance, Steph is Telephone, Tim is Poker Face, haven’t figured out who Dick and Damian are. Dick might be Alejandro.
Robins as Star Wars characters. Dick is Luke, Tim is Leia, Jason is Han… Damian is Chewy.
And I still need to finish up JRPG!Robins.

No problem Anon.
I like the idea that he’s wearing Dick’s clothes only because it still connects him someway to the Batfamily and because he somewhat started as substitute for Dick pre-crisis. To me Jason is his own person despite if he’s wearing something of Dick’s and that’s the fun part for me. Someone who was originally created to be an expy of Dick is radically different despite what he’s wearing.
But I do understand the whole second-rate and hanger-on for the Bat-family, because he was written like that after his comeback. He popped up either to start a fight or in one case be altruistic and help free someone wrongfully convicted. I feel like he’s second-rate and a hanger-on for the Batfamily right now in DCnU (and I feel sorry for the Tim Drake fans) so I understand your feeelings on the subject.
Anyway, I’m happy to help explain!
Hey Anon!
Hopefully this will help you understand where most of the people got that from.

First off: Covers lie. Case in point Batman: The Dark Knight #9 features Tim, but Tim only appeared in a panel (or two). Even sold as Tim was going to go fight a Talon, but he didn’t.
Second: Let’s starts with the opening scene of #6. Jason is in the most villainous looking submarine ever, pretty sure if you painted it like a shark it’ll fit with a James Bond villain.
Anyway, third page has this panel:

Note, Jason’s lack of bat.

FSWOOSH! No bat.
Couple pages in, Starfire gives Jason some clothes to wear, Dick’s clothes.

I just wanted to keep Jason’s reaction next to the panel with the clothes. I would like to point out the outfits hanging up (ignoring the scaley panties on the bottom).
The one in the forefront is one of Dick’s outfits from the 80s-90s, somewhere after Discowing but before Fingerstripes. It is a fashion disaster. The left one behind it is Dick’s current outfit. The right one… look at the bat. That’s Jason’s bat from the cover. Look at the shoulder peeking out on the cover (that was absent on the submarine scene), there is a little red bat.
You do have a case saying it could be one of his repaired, but why would Starfire paint the little red bats on it when Jason still have complicated complex feelings about his adopted family? Jason even says “Nightwing” indicating this is all Dick’s clothes.
Plus we’re all pulling up old DCU history with Jason being the only Robin to not have his own version of the Robin uniform (copying Dick) and then later in the most horrible Nightwing story arc (Brothers in Blood) wearing Fingerstripe!Nightwing outfit.
Anyway, hopefully this helped you, Anon, where everyone got the idea that Jason is wearing Dick’s clothes …again.
I think you can safely say that fans of Jason Todd, Starfire, and Roy Harper can argue til the end of time about Red Hood and the Outlaws.
The comic is pretty 50/50 from my view on people who are buying and reading it either loving it or hating it. I’m one of the latter group who buys it because well I’m glad that my favorite DCU character is starring in an on-going series and praying that a new writer takes over before the eventual cancellation (I haven’t checked the sales but when I checked a few months it wasn’t doing too hot after the first issue and on a downward trend). There were so cute moments to take away from the series so far too (and Jason gets to wear another one of Dick’s old clothes… this must be a universal constant).
That’s pretty much how I see it myself. I really don’t want it to be cancelled, because it wouldn’t bring any good.
I don’t think Dick’s clothes would fit Jay atm xD He’s grown to be bigger than him (Rocafort draws a pretty diminutive Jason, though, so I guess it’s possible in RHatO).
I kinda explained that in my head with Jason fitting Dick’s clothes is that Jason hasn’t grown to his full height and bulk (Jason’s 19/20, you don’t stop growing around lower-to-mid-20s heightwise depending on your genetics!). Plus being injured and laying unconscious for periods of time (issue 6) will make anyone lose bulk.
I just hope one of the other writers (Higgins because he’s writing Dick or Tomasi since there’s a meeting of the Robins happening soon) gives us the most best scene ever, Dick asking Jason why he’s wearing his old clothes.
